Description

Penciltown is a solitaire town-building strategy game with heavy random elements. It's print-and-play, and uses a pencil, an eraser and two d6s.

It's played entirely on a mostly-blank sheet of paper: you draw the town yourself. The writing is thematically dense, and is more or less low fantasy.

Each round, you roll to see how productive your town is. You then get to forage for additional resources, spend accumulated resources to improve your town, or mount a quest. You also roll to see whether an event occurs each round. Events are interactive, and can involve a decision. Many of them also include an attack on your town, which you need to prepare for adequately or suffer the consequences.

The goal of the game is to make it to the final round without your town being destroyed, while also fulfilling the objective you rolled at the start of the game.
