In PIIGS players represent that pipe dream called "markets", whose purpose is to enrich themselves at the cost of eliminating the welfare state of the five countries that make up what some economists call PIIGS: Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece and Spain.

The game is played in several rounds, split shifts players who make reservations debt countries can buy and sell it later for a profit. The objective of the game is to buy the largest possible number of companies for which we have to get the maximum amount of money on successive shifts, buying and selling bonds of debt to debt reserves of the countries they last or the bankrupt companies.
