Description

Dungeon Masters of the world, have you ever thrown a dragon at your party and found the resulting combat to be repetitive slugfest? Has your game of Dungeons & Dragons been reduced to a dull series of dice rolls resulting in "Hit" or "Miss"? Or conversely, is your dragon way too powerful, forcing you to make it weaker or risk a TPK? Would you like to spice up your dragon encounters with a little more personality? Would you like your dragons to be long-term threats whose actions have far-reaching consequences? Would you like to give your players more choices in what they want to do?

Then this is just for you. I present to you, 'Pioneer's Path to Port Luxus', A city based adventure featuring an Ancient Green Dragon that will leave a lasting and memorable impression in your campaign.

The coastal city of *Port Luxus*, a true rival to Waterdeep, was founded fifty years ago at the site of a great volcanic eruption. Miners and prospectors first came to this area to dig up the precious veins of ore and minerals that were deposited. It wasn't long before crafters and traders followed to capitalise on the discovery, and Port Luxus was born.

After a period of peace and prosperity, the port is now plagued with several problems: sunken trade ships, petty politics, smuggling of dangerous goods, black market trading, crazy cults and an Ancient Green Dragon called *Viridax* who is behind all the recent troubles.

Viridax represents raw desire pushed to the extreme, and covets what she desires to the extreme. She may lack in power, but she makes up for it with her charm and charismatic presence.

She is a powerful primordial creature who can warp her surroundings to suit her needs. Due to her deep connection with forests, Viridax has become a powerful Archdruid of the forest. But she is less interested in maintaining the balance of nature, and focussed on bending and reshaping the forest and its creatures such as Kobolds, Lizardfolk, Trolls and Hill Giants to her will.

Most dragons take on servants or slaves, but Viridax especially likes to play and torment her subjects psychologically, deriving pleasure from their suffering.

Viridax has lived a long and glorius life spanning several centuries, and in all this time she has become a skilled manipulator who is able to attain anything she desires.

This campaign setting and adventure is intended for four to six characters, taking them all the way from level 1 to level 11.
