The DualSense wireless controller is the standard for PS5, offering immersive haptic feedback, dynamic adaptive triggers and a built-in microphone, all integrated into an iconic design. There have been four revisions; the number code is found on the internal board or by scanning the QR code on the back of the controller (the second character in the serial number):
BDM-010: Uses battery model "lip 1708". There are 2 screws in black color and 2 wires on each side of the internal board.
BDM-020: Uses battery model "SNY HR 37". There are 2 screws in silver color and 2 wires on each side of the internal board.
BDM-030: Uses battery model "lip 1708". Trigger buttons are longer and slimmer than 010 and 020. There are 8 screws in silver color and 4 wires on each side of the internal board.
BDM-040: Uses battery model "SNY HR 37". Trigger buttons are longer and slimmer than 010 and 020. There are 6 screws in silver color and 4 wires on each side of the internal board.
The DualSense "Edge" Wireless Controller is a premium controller costing twice as much as the base version. It allows for changeable stick caps, remappable inputs, and replaceable Stick Modules to address the on-going 'drift' problem. Stick Modules sold separately at $19.99 per stick.
