Poules Pirates (Pirate Chickens) is a strategic card game combining confrontation, majority and opportunism, where players take on the role of pirates ready to dig frantically for as much treasure as possible on l'Île aux Poules (Chicken Island).
But watch out for the cunning of your companions! Just one well-placed shovelful can land them the treasure you've been coveting. And as if that weren't enough, the Giant Chicken, guardians of the island, can appear at just the right moment to turn the game upside down and redistribute the balance of power in an instant.
The game is played in 12 rounds, corresponding to the number of cards in hand. All players start with the same cards (3 Giant Chicken and 9 shovels cards) and must play one card per turn, in a mechanic inspired by trick-taking, but with free management of card placement and strong strategic interaction. Once played, the cards never return to your hand, and may even end up in your opponents' treasures! Timing and anticipation are your best weapons for triumph.
With its many Trafalgar moves and constant interaction between players, Poules Pirates is an accessible (10+ years), fast (25 min) and fun game, which will appeal to casual players as well as fans of trick games and territory control!
