Pro Evolution Soccer 5 is a soccer simulation game in a series of games by Konami. The title brings a number of improvements to the series, and is the first game in the series to offer online play.
The same game modes are available as in earlier games: quick match, Master League career mode, various leagues and cups, training, and edit mode. Konami includes many new licensed clubs from across Europe, and the game boasts a roster of over 140 clubs. Career mode lets players control a club made up of the team’s default roster, or a set of custom players.
Player control has been improved to give a more realistic feel of handling the ball, and the game has been coded to impart more human error into the teams – players will mishandle the ball more often if the player is on the wrong foot or has made a bad turn. Snow has been added to the game as a new weather condition, as well.
There are a number of ways to play online, including joining matches against a random opponent, scouting out players based on their statistics, or using the online league system to play against opponents in the same skill level.
