R-Type Dimensions is based on the arcade versions, now featuring the ability to change between the original graphics and a newly created set, in real time. This is a product for the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation 3's PlayStation Network.
IGN editor Cam Shea ranked it 10th on his top 10 list of Xbox Live Arcade games. He praised Dimensions for its challenge and the ability to switch between current and classic visuals, but felt that the price may be too high for the product.
