Rules According to Ral: Chaos Wars is a miniatures combat tabletop wargame, also referred to as "Ral Partha's Chaos Wars Classic Rules" or simply "Chaos Wars". The relatively simple wargame uses a wide variety of miniatures from various Ral Partha product lines.
Numerous expansions have been offered, allowing additional types of figures and various campaign options.
This expansion - Book Five: Personalities & Additional Material - describes how to use "Personalities" in combat. Personalities are essentially unique, named miniatures of greater than normal power and ability.
This wargame sourcebook crosses over into roleplaying in the closing section, "42:0 Role Playing Stat Lines". Here, two options are considered.
First, methods for converting class/level and skill system RPG character stats into Chaos Wars Personalities, so RPG characters can be included in fantasy miniatures battles.
Second, and more interesting from a roleplaying perspective, are "RPG Profiles" of several notable Chaos Wars personalities - "to use at your discretion, if you wish to include some Chaos Wars Personalities into your Role Playing Games."
