The earliest memory "Gabe" has is of violence and survival in the Sacred Lands – an isolated region on Earth concealed within a dimensional fold where dinosaurs still roam. Gabe could stalk, kill, heal with great speed, and he neither knew nor cared why. But when Donovan Shepherd came to the Sacred Lands and told Gabe he was a Meta, a human born with extraordinary abilities, Gabe began to wonder how he came to live in such a savage place. He returned with Donovan to the outer world, teaching at Donovan's school for Metas, and fighting alongside the heroic Vindicators as the Raptor (PL 9). Still, he wonders about his past.
