A starfighter pilot RPG using the Forged-in-the-Dark inspired Dash system to tell stories and depict dogfights from the perspective of the villains! Heavily inspired by the classic Lucasarts flight sim "TIE Fighter."
Please Note: As an entry in a timed game jam, this RPG is still in the development process. Though it is complete and playable, tweaks, updates, new content, copy edits, and more will likely be implemented as testing and revisions continue.
RED AIR is a tactical, sci-fi starfighter pilot tabletop roleplaying game about portraying the villains. It is a companion piece to my first game After\\Burner, which has numerous sources of inspiration but is heavily colored by the “galaxy far far away” and its legendary stable of flight simulators.
I got to thinking: if After\\Burner is the “Cross-Wing Fighter” translation to the tabletop space - then what does a “Double Ion Engine” game look like? Well…it looks like this!
The characters are fighter pilots in the dominant galactic navy of an oppressive, totalitarian State. Endless resources and an iron grip on the populations of countless worlds means the most efficient way of wielding aerial power is through swarms of short range, lightly-armored, unshielded, highly specialized starfighters. Most pilots are barely screened, swiftly trained, and thrown into a cockpit to darken the skies of beleaguered planets.
Villainy affords you power and prestige - at the cost of constant surveillance and your soul. Will you be ground down into another hateful cog in an insidious machine, or will you ignite the spark of rebellion and take your first desperate steps towards making things right?

CHOOSE YOUR COCKPIT \\ Six different fighter craft to pilot that adjust your stats to suit their combat role: Shrieker, Carnivore, and Incinerator to begin, with the Guardian, Gunwing, and Oppressor reserved for qualified pilots.
