From the introduction:
A month ago, a new theological sect moved in the town, consisting of human clerics. The community of sentient gorillas didn’t push it too much, being sects as what they are, come and go. It was a curious sect consisting of lawful good clerics and lawful evil clerics living side by side in the same temple they established. Much to the surprise, the sect flourished becoming strong. Its members slowly but surely enveloped the local human population, then about half the elven population. No one could figure out how the Church of Universal Light and Darkness recruited its members, it was not like they went out and stole other members from other temples in the surrounding area or forced them into “press gangs.” Nor had the sect, slandered other deities, infact they do not say nothing at all about other deities. (Their recruitment comes natural for them as people go to the temple out of curiosity becoming fascinated with the doctrines of these two opposing sects, but yet with in the same temple with each other).
The gorillas didn’t get worried until several members of their community disappeared. Several accusations were tossed at the two sects particularly at the clerics of the dark, but nothing ever was proven. Then the community of Asabu-atiwuville tried to roust the sect, but was unsuccessful as the clerics had powerful spells. Many gorillas fought, died, and lived again that day thanks to the clerics of light. From then on, the gorillas respected the clerics letting them do their business. This would have been fine, except the abduction of the paladin. Now community leaders are starting to worry that an omen will come to their village. Several gorillas have struck out on their own to investigate the disappearance of several of there races and to investigate the church more closely.
