RisiKo! Digital is a series of video games that simulate the board game RisiKo!, the only official transposition of the Italian system of rules, published by Editrice Giochi.
RisiKo! Digital was launched on 7 December 2002 by Editrice Giochi and developed in collaboration with Fi-System. The first CD-ROM version was stand-alone, for single player or online multiplayer . In 2006 it was replaced by RisiKo! Digital 2, online multiplayer flash version , developed by Kalicanthus Entertainment and published on Kalicanthus.it and on TGM Online . In July 2012 this version was replaced by RisiKo! Digital 3, available in multiplatform, with a client for Windows and Mac, an app for iOS and Android or via browser on Facebook.
The board is very similar in appearance to that of the board game, but it is possible to activate alternative colors of the territories, for example according to the owner.
In the first version offline single player mode it is possible to face three computerized opponents, with different selectable artificial intelligence, in games with traditional objectives or with tournament rules.
In the online versions it is possible to play for free for a limited period of 15 days or to subscribe for 1, 3 or 12 months. The game modes are 4 + 1:
Digital: 4-player game, each with 30 minutes available. (lasting about an hour)
UltraDigital: 4-player game, each with 30 minutes available and final match [1] . (duration about 45 minutes)
Prestige: game of 3 to 6 players with a fixed number of rounds of your choice and final match. (duration from 60 to 90 minutes approximately)
Pr3stige: 3-player game with a fixed number of turns of your choice. (duration about 30 minutes)
Challenge: 4-player game, each with 30 minutes available. (lasting about an hour)
Prestigious: game, currently beta, with 4 players, with the number of rounds varying 30, 40, 50. Each player has 3 minutes to make each turn, at the end of the game, the computer takes its place and acts as if the player is disconnected.
The regulation applied is not that of RisiKo! classic but the one used for the National Championship (whoever scores the most points wins; the points are those of the territories in their secret objective) as published by the publisher in the latest version of RisiKo! Challenge.
The game portal also offers the possibility to participate in a tournament called "Challenge" valid for the selections of the RisiKo! National Championship. To participate in the "Challenge" Tournament, you must first know and approve the Regulations and then register.
