Rock Needle

Surrounded by a dense spruce forest a monolithic, needle like rock rises far above the trees. If one's view is not blocked by the trees it can be seen for miles around. Of course the same is true in reverse. The top of the rock needle makes for a excellent lookout post. Of course one has to climb the rock first. Given its height one might think this to be a tough climb, but this could not be further from the truth. To reach the top, one has only to climb from one relatively flat plateau to the next. The rock faces separating the plateaus are barely more than head high and rough enough to provide ample hand and foot holds.
