Description

Description from itch.io page:
Rotmound is the decomposing husk of a human cottage. Exiled from Smuggler’s Goblet and led by the magician Spitwaddle, the gang banded together, discovering the warm and fertile soil of the mound, as well as the lost magical artifact within: the Crown of Broken Bonds.

Desperate for both security and revenge, and using mud, twigs and mushroom caps to conceal their mouse features, the gang creeps forth to raid, steal and kidnap under the cover of darkness. Their prisoners toil in the mound, growing food, working the mud pits, and feeding the larvae that break down the compost heap that makes up the Mound and fuel a captive salamander’s growth.

Will the exiles exact their nefarious plan and avenge themselves upon the good folk of Smuggler’s Goblet? Will the Rotmound’s heat consume the forest denizens? Or will the players put to rest the feud and rescue the kidnapped mice?

Rotmound is a hex and one-page adventure for the Mausritter RPG. It is presented as a one-page adventure that folds up into a mini-zine "Pocket Mod" detailing the hex that contains it.

Inside you'll find:

• The Rotmound hex, a compost pile in the center of a forest
• A new faction of exiled mice that live with the mound
• A one-page adventure detailing the exile's hideout and the inside of the Rotmound
• Two new spells, four new and unique items from the Rotmound, and more treasures to uncover

There are two primary ways to use this:
• Run the one-page adventure as a one-shot, with the mice infiltrating the Rotmound to rescue kidnapped villagers from Smuggler's Goblet
• Add the included hex-tile to your hex crawl. Use the provided rumors, hex encounters, and "Plugs and Sockets" to help integrate it into its surroundings. Use the one-page adventure as reference, modified as needed for when the players visit
