From the introduction:
The end of time. You never expected to see it, but you think you are seeing it now. For your world, time is at an end. Or rather, in a loop. You are all floating in the dimension of time, called Temporal Prime, in the midst of blackness. Far off, you can see a large silvery ball of yarn where the time stream for your world, Alenkirth, should be. The time stream has wrapped back on itself and knotted up, and looking at it you realize that something far beyond your nightmares has happened. The questions is, what?
