A hack of Tyler Crumrine’s Beak, Feather, & Bone, a collaborative world/map building RPG. You’ll be creating a unique community steeped in folklore and strange occurrences, drawn from the perspective of the grade-school youth who inhabit it.
Rumors, Cliques, & History can be played as a self-contained RPG or session zero tool for establishing the communities you encounter during play.
Within the game you’ll be representing a grade-school clique and building the city through the lens of how they would explore and experience it. On your turn you’ll flip a card, choose which location type to represent on the map, describe the location in a few short sentences, and then draw the location directly onto the hex map. You’ll not only determine the relationship of the location within the map, you’ll also create the narrative in which this location exists and how it is influenced by or influences your clique.
To Play You’ll Need
location details sheets (provided) OR a stack of note cards
colored writing utensils OR writing utensils AND coloring utensils
an unlabeled hex map (provided)
a standard 52 deck playing cards
