From publisher blurb:
Everything in Space is Abandoned Eventually—The Only Question is Who Gets There First.
War, corporate failures, engine malfunctions, and the silent grip of space itself—sooner or later, every ship becomes salvage.
For most people, derelict stations, lost cargo freighters, and forgotten satellites are just drifting reminders of human imperfection. For a Freelance Salvager, they are goldmines waiting to be picked clean.
Some work legally, securing salvage rights and selling what they find to the highest bidder. Others operate in gray zones, getting to wrecks before corporate clean-up teams arrive. And then there are those who don’t ask permission at all—if it floats and no one is using it, it’s fair game.
They dive into the forgotten ruins of space, hunting for lost technology, hidden cargo, and valuable parts that others left behind.
Because in space, scrap is currency—and fortune favors the bold.
The Many Faces of a Salvager
Not all Freelance Salvagers are the same. Some have licenses, contracts, and legal protection. Others work for themselves, running just ahead of the law.
The Corporate Salvager – A licensed recovery expert working for a megacorporation, following orders, securing assets, and keeping the best finds out of civilian hands.
The Black Market Scavenger – A professional hacker, lockbreaker, and tech thief, specializing in extracting classified technology from wrecks before authorities arrive.
The Deep-Space Wreck Diver – An explorer who thrives in abandoned stations, long-lost warships, and forgotten colony husks, recovering relics from the unknown.
The War Scrapper – A veteran of conflict zones, picking through old battlefields for weapons, fuel cells, and working engines.
The Desperate Scavenger – A former colonist or ex-worker, out in the black because there’s no other way to survive.
The Treasure Hunter – They aren’t looking for common salvage—they’re chasing myths, legendary lost ships, and artifacts worth a fortune.
Some work alone, using drones and stealth to get in and out unseen. Others operate in tight-knit crews, covering each other while they strip wrecks before competitors arrive.
But all of them know one thing:
If you’re not first to the salvage, you might as well be last.
This is a full 5e Class, with a description, Unique Abilties and Level progression up to 20th Level, for a Near Future Scifi setting.
