User Summary

Side scrolling action adventure with lots of fighting.

The player is Usagi Yojimbo, a samurai rabbit (yes, a rabbit) in the 17th century who walks through a monks, ninjas, villagers and monsters riddled Japan, fighting numerous battles to save his friend and the country from the ultmate evil.

The fighting scenes look a lot like the classical fighting games, with Usagi on the left and one or more antagonists on the right, with a life bar at the bottom of the screen.
However, the game also incorperates dialogue and Usagi has ‘Karma’: good actions are rewarded, while bad ones, like needless voilence cost Karma. Once all his Karma is gone, Usagi will commit traditional suicide: harakiri.
