Description

This spellbook is designed around the themes of death, undeath, and horror, offering a collection of spells that open new doors in your characters and NPC’s approach to magic. Warlocks benefit the most from these additions, drawing on their dark connections to monstrous forces, while Wizards and Clerics come in second, each bringing their respective academic and divine perspectives on interacting with the dead. A majority of the spells fall under the school of necromancy, with necrotic damage being the most common damage type by far, but all the schools have at least a little representation with a smattering of other damage types spread around.

The most exciting addition, however, is the introduction of powerful and interesting, yet balanced, new ways to create, enhance, and customize undead minions. With the 1st-level spell Animate Claws, you can command minions from the very beginning of your adventure. Spells like Graven Scar let you mark your enemies as targets for your undead servants. The Graft spells allow you to rip body parts from the corpses of your foes and attach them to your allies or undead minions, giving them access to new abilities and attacks. Spells like Monstrous Mash combine multiple corpses into a single, terrifyingly powerful undead creation. All of these spells are designed to work seamlessly with existing spells for undead creation and control, offering a wealth of new options for those who seek to harness the powers of the grave, and that is just scratching the surface!
