Description

User summary:

Senior Assassin is an organized live-action roleplaying game. Players assume the roles of assassins, and are assigned to one of two teams of assassins. The goal of the game is to eliminate ("assassinate") all members of the other team. A variety of rules are used to restrict game play to safer practices.

Commonly-used restrictions include:

players are restricted to foam-dart toy guns or squirt guns that are clearly not actual weapons
players may don a specific piece of apparel (e.g. a sombrero) to place themselves in 'safe' status (e.g., out of the game for a brief period of time)
the day of Prom is a non-game day
play cannot occur on school grounds or in or around churches
trespass on private property is prohibited
assassinations only 'count' when properly reported to the game administrator

The game typically is open only for high school Seniors who are graduating and elect to play. The game typically is restricted to a single high school student body.

This controversial game routinely is criticized by school officials and law enforcement.

A large variety of rules exist, most promulgated by local groups of fairly small size. While the basic element of play - "assassinations" of opposing team members of high school seniors by pretend guns - is held in common, the specific implementation of rules varies by group.
