Serious Sam II once again pits the player into the role of Sam "Serious" Stone as he battles Mental's forces.
The game has Sam retrieving 5 pieces of an ancient medallion in order to defeat Mental.
Gameplay is similar to other entries in the series. Sam uses various weapons to defeat wave after wave of enemies. The enemy waves are usually triggered when Sam picks up items along the way. For example, a item that gives Sam +1 armor may trigger some very hard enemies, making the +1 armor pick up not worth actually picking it up.
