User Summary

Side Pocket is a billiards game originally released in arcades by Data East. The goal of the game is to clear the pool table of balls in a limited number of shots while simultaneously achieving a predetermined score. Points are gained for sinking multiple shots and sinking balls in numerical order.

Two player modes are also available on some releases of the game. The standard two player Pocket mode is a basic 15-ball pool game. Each player aims to sink all of the balls on the table, and when they fail to pocket or scratch on their shot, control switches to the other player. A nine-ball game is also available in two player mode.

There is a large range of control afforded to the player for their shots – spin can be put on the cue ball, and both massés and jump shots can be performed.
