Siege: Skirmish Rules for Siege Warfare in Ancient and Medieval Times

Game ID: GID0287129
Collection Status
Description

Broadly based upon "Sword and Pistol" and "Sword and Shield" by the same author, SIEGE is designed to play out siege warfare in the ancient and medieval periods in a relatively fast game.

One figure represents 8 men. Written for 15mm miniatures the rules are adaptable to other scales. Percentage dice are used, there is a points system for those who want one.

Rules appear to cover most or all aspects of siege warfare, including: artillery, siege engines, structural damage, fires, storming fortifications, rules for riders being thrown, riderless mount, collisions, caltrops, wrecking siege engines, boiling water as a weapon, dropping rocks, hacking holes in walls, ditches and trenches, ladders, fighting indoors, falling, spotting, nighttime and moats, etc.

The book also includes two scenarios: Persians besieging Greeks, and Crusaders besieging Byzantines. Plus a QRS and an orders sheet that can be copied.
