Sir Pellinore's Game was first published in 1978 and is considered a derivative of Tunnels & Trolls. This edition appeared in 1979, and a later edition appeared in 1981. The game is discussed at some length in several articles and the book The Elusive Shift by Jon Peterson. Though very obscure and rare, it is considered an important game in the early history of roleplaying.

The 1978 edition's full title is Sir Pellinore's Book of Rules for a Game of Magic Mideval Adventures; the 1979 edition's title is Sir Pellinore's Game, and the 1981 edition's title is Sir Pellinore's Favorite Game.
