"Your Majesty, I’ve prepared a text on crystal ball for today’s lesson on the Smithmage, a magical blacksmith magewright background for Dungeons & Dragons. Please review it before your meeting with their guild masters.
To recap our previous discussions, your magewright subjects can be found among villagers, nobles, adventures, and villains and are important actors in the Kingdom’s economy. As such, they earn higher pay rates for their time compared to their nonmagical counterparts, magewrights begin as apprentices and progress towards mastery of their career when they will begin to mentor those in their early studies. Magewrights have also been an important source of income and early learning among some of Your Majesty’s most powerful adventurers.
The Smithmage, also known as a blacksmith magewright, uses magic such as the mage hand, prestidigitation, or produce flame cantrip, to go about an accelerated completion of their vocational tasks. A novice smithmage has also learned to prepare and cast, and ritual cast where applicable, a list of spells including comprehend languages for transactions involving foreign clientelle, fast crafting for accelerated task completion, Tenser’s floating disk for the movement of heavy input materials, and unseen servant for use as an assistant as well as levitate for the vertical movement of materials and nystul’s magical aura to leave a maker’s mark.
Magewrights who are more advanced in their careers can also cast such spells as conjure crew, leomund’s tiny hut, protection from energy, fabricate, creation, telekinesis, and teleportation circle.
