Snooker-U

Game ID: GID0292208
Collection Status
Description

The game simulates snooker through the playing of cards to represent shots. Scoring is the same as in snooker, with cards representing the different coloured balls being "potted". Breaks can be built, but the tactical use of safety shots, including snookers, will be needed to come out ahead over a series of frames.

Each player is dealt 5 cards, each of which represent a possible snooker shot: coloured balls score points, snooker and safety shots are defensive making it difficult for the opponent to "pot" a ball, whilst the fluke cards also score points acting as a "joker" for any ball. Each player lays cards until they can no longer continue their scoring break, refreshing their hand after every card laid. Their opponent then lays cards to score points in the same manner. The game ends once all the red and coloured balls have been potted as in the real game of snooker. The winner, as in snooker, is the player with the highest score. More typically, one would agree to play a match over a number of games.
