The Solar Drifter is an ancient spaceship used by low technology level cultures. It takes decades to travel from start to star, and only the royal family are allowed to use the stasis pods to arrive while they are still young.
The solar drifter makes an interesting encounter for any group of sci-fi travellers, or other space adventurers on the high frontier. The technology of the Solar-Drifter – which uses huge lightsails, and needs a battery of lasers at its home star to push it to anywhere near light speed – may be obsolete, but there are still dangers lurking within.
