Each focused archetype loses some flexibility compared to an attribute-based archetype, whether that’s fewer feat choices, mandated talents, or a different class feature. Focused archetypes straddle the line between risk and reward. Players should think carefully before choosing a focused archetype. Each focused archetype is ‘keyed’ to a specific class, representing the culmination of a youth spent preparing for the keyed role. Heroes can fulfill entry requirements by gaining proficiencies from the focused archetype’s keyed class. By taking a focused archetype, you’re committing to that keyed class and taking class features from it.
