Space Crusade is a computer adaptation of the MB boardgame of the same name, a light tactical combat science-fiction game. Players choose a space marine squad, equip it with a choice of weapons and gear and try to complete one of the several missions that will lead to the conquest of a derelict space ship.
Like Heroquest, Space Crusade is a straightforward adaptation of the boardgame. The game is turn-based, each marine squad taking its own turn (thus allowing up to three players to play). The game alternates between an overhead map of the mission area, and an isometric view when combat occurs. The missions are the same as those in the boardgame rulebook.
"The Voyage Beyond" is the sequel of the original game. It adds new aliens (Space Ogre, Parasites, Dreadnought with a 4th weapon), weapons (chainsword, flamer) and 3 new marine ranks.
