From the introduction:
You can find the professional archer in any army, where they are relied upon to thin the ranks of the oncoming force or detached as skirmishers to the enemy’s flank. They are warriors, highly skilled in the use of the bow. During times in which no such dire conflict arises, many of these men and women may be found among the ranks of adventurers, seeking excitement and fortune. Archers often are viewed as being carefree as the wind. In many cultures the way of the bow is a spiritual one. Certainly, the image of a longbowman at one with his environment, collected in thought and economical in action, is a popular one. This class is open to humans, elves, and half-elves. Consequently, one may find Archers of any alignment, though many are found to be quite chaotic.
