The Avowed were started by a group of disenfranchised infantry fighters who deserted their Lord and set up home in the forest. They found that in their struggle to exist they were persecuted by those within the law for being traitors and by outlaws, for the law had no wish to protect them. The Avowed constantly trained and put their techniques into practice, which continues today.
