Description

Speed Racer, known in Japan as Mach Go Go Go, is a PlayStation game based on the anime of the same name. It was developed by Graphic Research Co. Ltd and published by Tomy in Japan on September 27, 1996. The English localization, published by Jaleco, did not see a release in North America until March 27, 1998.

The game is an arcade-style racer similar in look to Daytona USA. The major difference between the two games is that the player can use all the Mach 5's gadgets, just as seen in the anime. The gadgets can be used to "shunt" other cars (even with the Cutter, the cars only bounce and there is no damage), or take shortcuts by cutting down trees or driving underwater through lakes. The player can switch between gadgets as well as the camera views on the fly. The length of the race can chosen in the menu, along with basic sound options and difficulty settings.
