Interacting with illusions can be a difficult thing to judge as the DM. As such, this rule is in place to make running illusion magic easier for the DM and more clear for players as far as how to deal with the cognitive dissonance of knowing in real life that the illusion is fake, while their character does not.

Have you ever found yourself or your players wrapped up in the sarcastic cognitive dissonance of a character or monster not knowing that an illusion was right in front of them?

The rules in this document are a guide for handling illusion spells, and making this spell school fun for players and the DM to utilize to its full and terrible potential.
