Spell-Based Monster - Familiarist

"Based on the find familiar spell, the Familiarist is a Challenge 3 mage who works in tandem with his or her familiar on and off the battlefield. These strange wizards always have a familiar present and will go to great length to bind new, more powerful familiars to their service. The familiarist makes for a great NPC for the characters to run into in town or on an adventure, and might even be willing to teach the party wizard find familiar!

In combat, the familiarist has unique and interesting mechanics revolving around making the most use of its familiar."
