Description

“It’s the late 21st century, a few decades after magic returned to the world. A small percentage of the population transformed overnight, with many becoming elves, ogres, beastfolk, or other so-called “new humans”—but some gained arcane gifts, the most powerful of whom were the “archmages.”

Civilization almost collapsed, but the archmages stepped forward to help, and with their support, the world’s governments managed to restore order. The people soon adapted to a new way of life, while the archmages faded from the public eye to establish secret organizations and pursue their own agendas.

You are “spellrunners,” freelance arcane operatives who take on clandestine jobs for the archmages.”

Inspired by cyberpunk-fantasy RPGs and novels such as Sprawlrunners and Ghosts & Magic, Spellrunners is a standalone scenario for the Tricube Tales system. It is usable as a micro-setting, but it is also a fully self-contained one-page RPG in its own right. You can print it on a single sheet of paper: The first page includes everything you need to play, while an optional second page expands the adventure generator with examples and twists. The PDF uses layers for ease of printing.
