User Summary:
StarCraft: Brood War was the first and only official expansion for Blizzard's hit real time strategy game StarCraft. StarCraft: Brood War continues with the Sci-Fi theme of the original StarCraft where three races (Terran, Protoss, and Zerg) are locked in a deeply intertwined war spanning across the universe. StarCraftL Brood war added a total of 7 new units to the StarCraft Universe( Terran: Medic, Valkyrie; Protoss: Dark Templar, Dark Archon, Corsair; Zerg Lurker, Devourer). Along with the new units, new campaign missions were introduced beginning where the original left off. The new campaign was split into 3 episodes, one episode for each of the races. Also included in StarCraft: Brood War were many improvements to the map editor, as well as new game mechanics and balance adjustments.
StarCraft: Brood War expanded the original StarCraft's extremely popular multi-player adding new maps and many new levels of strategy with the newly introduced units. StarCraft Brood War reinvigorated the already booming competitive multi-player scene and still remains one of the top competitive games in the world.
