User summary:
Character generation in Starguild begins with a personal history, then a homeworld determination. Characters have eight Attributes which are randomly determined using 3D6 each: Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, Agility, Intelligence, Education, Bravery, and Charisma. Characters then have various Aptitudes derived from Attribute values. A variety of other derived values are then calculated. Based on the character to this point, the player determines motivation and (optionally) limitations. Characters will select a role (Researcher, Survivalist, Technician, or Transport) which will provide various Skills and Skill values. Equipment allocation completes character generation.
Characters gain experience on a per-session basis and may utilize it in an attempt to gain aptitude in a Skill. Skill resolution and combat utilize dice rolls against target numbers. Combat can result in either Stun or Lethal damage, generally depending upon the type of weapon. Wounds are tracked "in a descriptive way" instead of using hit points.
