Description

From publisher blurb:

While recruiting the United Sentinels of America, team leader American Patriot received advice from his media liaison, Ms. Serena Vallens. She brought his attention to twin superheroes, a brother-sister duo known as Stars and Stripes. American Patriot expressed hesitation in adding siblings to the team. He feared an existing family dynamic could interfere with building a family dynamic within his squad. Ms. Vallens agreed that caution was reasonable, but her research suggested that Stars and Stripes possessed the spark the team needed, both for their missions and from a public image standpoint. Adding them would give the Sentinels something the media wanted to see in a supergroup.

Including the twins, Stars and Stripes, on the Sentinels proved beneficial to the team, and American Patriot has never seriously regretted his decision to accept them. On the other hand, he felt frustration towards the twins’ familial drama. The two of them bicker frequently. Stripes seems determined to treat his sister like she’s too fragile to be on the team, while Stars insists on taking risks to prove herself and her abilities. This friction throws off the rest of the Sentinels during training and causes others to argue with one another and the siblings. Fortunately, most of these issues disappear when the actual combat starts.
