From the introduction:
You are refugees of the final conflict of your people. You, who gather here, are the last living members of what was once a great nation. Who your people were, what befell them, and how you survived is a story we will tell soon, do not worry. They are stories because the dust has settled. Your homeland, once a site of great calamity, is relatively calm once again. Relatively because the ghosts of those you love are still there, anchored to the land and restless. You must shore up your bravery now and return there, for they are in pain and you are the only ones that remember the stories that will free them. Wrap yourselves in the thickest sheepskins for it is cold where you are going. Pack light, for the weight of their memories will test you. This a burden none should be asked to bare, but you must bare it, you must put them to rest.
