Description

From publisher blurb:

"HE AIN'T THE BLUE BEETLE I ONCE SEEN!"

Archeologist and college professor Dan Garrett secretly defended Earth from powerful menaces, be they scientific or supernatural, as the Blue Beetle. Then one day, he suddenly disapeared. But, in the void left by one Blue Beetle, another soon appeared--and he was all-new and all-different!

In 1967, Steve Ditko undertook the second Charlton Comics revamping of the venerable superhero Blue Beetle. Moving forward in a completely different direction than Charton's first relaunch--yet one that in some ways was closer to the original Blue Beetle that debuted in 1939--but still keeping ties with the Dan Garrett version of the character, Ditko's Blue Beetle would go on to be the most successful and longest-running iterations of any version of the character so far.

Steve Ditko's Blue Beetle: The End is a Beginning collects the best of Ditko's Blue Beetle tales, from their initial place as a back-up feature in Captain Atom to the return of headlining in his own book. From the running mystery of Dan Garrett's fate (which isn't solved even when it appears to be solved!) through the oddball and deadly menaces this new Blue Beetle must face, these stories show Steve Ditko at the height of his creative powers. It's easy to see how and why they became the foundation for Blue Beettle adventures for almost four decades and DC Comics/Warner Bros. revamped the character again in 2004.

In addition to the historic superhero comics, this book also includes d20 System rules to allow a character in YOUR game to pick up the mantle and power of the Blue Beetle as he appears within it!

"I MAY NOT BE THE SAME GUY, BUT MY GOALS ARE THE SAME!"
