Description

A Morton Thinking Cap game produced in the 1960s.

In Stop Thief one player is the police and the other players are robbers in a game of cat and mouse. Rolling a die to move or using the bus routes available the robbers roam the city to steal cash from the banks and post offices. The robbers try to avoid being captured by the policemen on the beat or the patrol car.

The police earn bonus cash by catching robbers red-handed after a theft and if a robber is gaoled four times they are eliminated from the game. The robbers stash their loot in hideouts until they can afford the fare to leave the country by train, ship or aeroplane.

The winner is the player with the most money at the end of the game which can be either the police in the city or one of the robbers who has successfully escaped abroad.
