Complex hooks and plot leads are nice, very nice. Despite being important for the characters, however, such leads are not the focus of everyone and everything going around the characters. This is especially true on village streets. Though the characters are indeed the heroes not everything that goes around them has something to do with the characters' immediate mission at hand.
