User summary
Smash Brothers is a platform fighting game, in which players control characters from various Nintendo (and not) franchises, jumping around on a stage, trying to smash the other characters off screen.
This fourth installment in the series was released for first the 3DS and then the WiiU, but are, except for some stages availability and graphics, essentially the same game. The number of characters have grown even more, totallying over 40 characters. Adding to the typical character in the series, such as character from Mario, Zelda and Metroid and such, there are Rockman (Megaman), Sonic, Little Mac from Punch Out, Pac Man, the Wii Fit trainer and more.
The Wii U version of the game allows for up to 8 players simultaneously, using the Gamecube controller adaptor, which allows the user to connect up to 4 Gamecube controllers to the WiiU. Any combination of Gamecube controllers and Wii/WiiU controllers can be used. It's even possible to connect 8 Game cube controllers using two adaptors.
