Publisher's blurb:
The eight in a new series of fast, approachable heists for Dungeon Masters who want to add a seedy underbelly to Saltmarsh, Waterdeep, or any city of their choice.
Plunge your characters into an underworld of corruption, theft, death, and money, complete with its own rules, lingo, and protocols.
A shadowy figure that calls themselves “Mr. Porter” reaches out to the characters about a job. They clearly have the skills needed for some skullduggery; or, at least Mr. Porter believes they’re desperate enough to try. Once you’re in, there’s no going back, but the reward is worth it…isn’t it?
It looks like a milk run this time: a ship just pulled into port, and Mr. Porter wants it taken out again before the unloading can begin. The ship's crew is out drinking, the coastal navies are patrolling the far reefs, and the pay is good - really good. But the folks that grow old in this profession didn't get that way by taking milk runs lightly, or taking milk runs at all. What's going on here, and who can you trust?
"Surviving Subterfuge" is a short, one-shot adventure written for characters from levels 3 to 5. It is designed to be played in approximately 1-2 hours, and can be run with limited support from the Monster Manual or the Dungeon Master's Guide.
