The Tac1 was the first generation of the TAC (Totally Accurate Controller) series of joysticks from the 1980s.
It was made as an analog joystick controller for Apple II (IIgs, IIc, IIgs and compatibles) and PC (XT, AT, PS2 and compatibles) using a cable with a two daisy chained ports (DB9 for Apple II followed by a DB15 for DOS) and a set of switch in the bottom for selecting the platform (before installation) and action button selector.
The joystick has one switch on the handle (signal 0) and two on the base (signal 1 - wired together) as well as X and Y centrering trims on the base.
There was a later Tac1+ (made in China).
