From the introduction:
This tournament is based on a group of mercenaries known as Red Death, experts in search and rescue missions. They are currently under contract by the Free City of Waterdeep to find and rescue a group of scouts who disappeared during a delicate mission (the details of which are undisclosed). The scouts vanished into a woodland at the foot of mountains known as Ilisian's Ladder, near the border with Spathica.
