By chance the heroes meet an old friend again, who really should not be in Paavi. He entangles them into his political plans, which ultimately will lead to overthrow of the duchess. But before that, Paavi must be defended against a danger no one expected, and the heroes have to face a former ally who now goes very own ways. It is also important for them to redeem a promise to meet a seemingly all-powerful adversary.

Ultimately, much blood will stain the Brydia red, until in the end of 1038 BF nothing in Paavi is as it was.
