From publisher blurb:
'Terrible Agony' is a quick-adventure for a party of four 9th level characters. Very little adaptation should be necessary to use in any campaign setting.
Adventure Background
A noble paladin has been cursed with Lycanthropy when he stepped into battle against a rampaging werewolf. This small rural town has little to help him, but the town is adamant on saving him. One of the locals know that there is a merchant in the town a couple of days journey that most likely has Belladonna, which may be able to cure the paladin of his curse if they can get it before the next full moon.
However the road there is dangerous. This wasn't the only werewolf out there, and no one in the town is prepared to actually get there safely. The town was in luck when the party came by. Belladonna isn't terribly expensive, but knowing the danger of the road the town offers the adventurers 200 gold merely to go to the town, purchase the Belladonna, and return it to the bed-ridden paladin before the next full moon, which is in only three days.
The werewolf pack though, has a different idea. To them the death of their packmate was a signal of his weakness, and they want the paladin to replace him in the pack. To do that they have to wait until the full moon comes, and they are watching the town to make sure it happens. When the party agrees to the work they plan a nighttime ambush.
The adventure is more of a 'Survive the Night' scenario. Wave after wave of werewolves will attack during the night until the party is either overwhelmed, or the Alpha attacks himself. Make sure to suggest to the party that they 'Stock Up' before heading on this adventure. They won't have an opportunity for either short or long rests... not that they should know that.
