Publisher's blurb:
'The Abbey' is a quick-adventure for a party of four 11thth level characters. Very little adaptation should be necessary to use in any campaign setting.
Adventure Background
Old country roads can lead strange places. Weary from travel, a group of adventurers come to a strange large and seemingly abandoned abbey deep in the forest. In the twilight hours the old ruined buildings, crumbling and well overgrown foundations hide a still inhabited and sizable building. A flash of lightning signals a coming thunderstorm. Upon knocking the party is met with the face of a young and pale holy woman in the vestments of a nun of some type.
The nun explains that the abbey is a holy sanctuary, and that generally only those who dedicate their lives to their faith are allowed entry. She seems hesitant, but if the party makes any request for shelter out of the approaching thunderstorm she requests a moment, and returns shortly later allowing the party entry. Inside of the abbey it is dark, as the building has few windows. By the light of a candelabra she leads the party into the abbey. She tells the party that they are preparing for a special ritual tonight in the chapel, and for them not to wander out of their room until morning. When asked, she simply states that this ritual is a private one and interruptions can't be allowed. She bids them goodnight, allows them two to a dorm room, and locks the door behind her as she leaves.
