The Artisan is a full reimagining of the 5th edition Artificer as a pure martial class.
Do you like concept of a tinkerer or inventor but felt the Artificer was too magical for your character or it just wouldn't fit in a low-magic campaign? That is where the Artisan comes in. The Artisan takes inspiration from the Artificer class and uses many of the same features where appropriate but all spellcasting has been removed as well as the Artificer's affinity for magic items. Instead, an Artisan uses the skills they learn in their trade in combat and they gain access to Artisan designs - crafty inventions that the Artisan builds during downtime that provide all sorts of useful abilities that can be used by either themselves or their allies.
The Artisan is a full intelligence-based martial class that fills more of a supportive role in an adventuring party, equiping their allies with useful gadgets and equipment.
